Q. Do I have to rent for a certain number of months?
A. No.

Q. Do you offer referral credits?
A. Yes, please ask for details. We appreciate your business and your referrals.

Q. Do you provide outside storage?
A. We provide outside storage for cars, trucks, RV and trailers. You must maintain your own insurance for your vehicle.

Q. Do you offer discounts or specials?
A. We have different specials check out our current promotion page.

Q. What type of security do you provide?
A. Gate access is limited to current tenants only by coded access. If any door is opened that has not had the alarm deactivated (by keying in your code) our personnel will be notified. They will respond to any occupied door alarm 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Dartmouth Secure Self Storage has 24 hour video surveillance throughout the site. Halifax Regional Police officers have access to the site and also drive thru the area to help ensure your items are safe.

Q. Why do I need insurance?
A. Storage facilities are like apartments, tenants items are not covered unless they have their own insurance. Although we provide a safe storage solution we do recommend that tenants have insurance. We always suggest that you check with your homeowners policy first as some will cover items in a self storage. If not they may be able to offer a better rate then ours.

Q. What items cannot be stored?
A. Items that can not be stored include, food*, perishable items, hazardous, toxic, or illegal items. If you are not sure that your item should or can be stored then please ask our staff. Gasoline, Propane, food or produce, plants, fireworks or other explosives, illegal drugs or item (we work with police and report any suspicious activity) are a few examples of items that are not allowed.

Q. What are your methods of payment?
A. We accept cash, major credit cards and debit.

Q. What type of deposits/fees do you charge?
A. We do not charge a deposit fee but we do require a major credit card on file.

Q. What are the hours of operation/access?
A. We are open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday and 10:00 am to 3 pm on Saturday. We are closed most Holidays and on Sundays.

Q. Does your self storage location supply locks?
A. No but we sell them on-site or you may bring your own lock. We recommend and only sell disc locks for your added protection. We sell these locks at very reasonable prices.

Q. Can I store a vehicle? If so, what is required?
A. Yes, both inside and outside spaces are available. The vehicle must be drivable and not leaking fluids.

Q. Do you provide pest control?
A. Yes, we have a professional pest control company that monitors our location on a monthly basis.

Q. Do you sell moving supplies?
A. Yes, we sell packing and moving supplies.

Q. Does it matter what type of boxes is used for storage?
A. No, what type of boxes you use is up to you, however we do recommend moving boxes as they are more suited for storage. We do not recommended boxes used for fruit or vegetables as they may contain unseen mold or mildew.

Q. Do you offer electric outlets in the units?
A. No, not at this time.

Q. Will you accept deliveries?
A. Yes, we will be more than happy to accept deliveries with your authorization on file.

A. We sell locks or you may bring your own lock. We recommend and only sell disc locks locks for your added protection.
